Buried contracts

Postby Machine » Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:43 pm

Just was googling and couldn't find an answer,
So let's say next year we're down and out by game 41, can you bury a contract for 1/2 a season? I know for the whole season you get league minimum + 375000 capspace, so if for a half season you bury a vet, is it prorated?
Thanks

not 100 % sure but i think it usually falls somewhere around 975K. My sense is that it wouldnt be prorated as whether a player makes 9 mil or 3 mil you can still only get the 975K.

however Im not sure what the sense in doing it would be. Id rather be trying to move some of these contracts if we are that far out of it that early, especially with another year gone on many of them and with a cap that looks like its going way up. Guys like helm or E with 2 years left around 4 mil under an 80ish mil cap might actually become moveable.

Yes, it counts half if it's half contracts all actually have a daily amount they cost against the cap.

Ok thanks, I'm not saying the wings should, it was more a hypothetical type thing I was wondering about as the wording at capfriendly, etc. dealt with a full year salary.
