Helene St. James Grads at Half way point

Postby reginawing » Sun Jan 07, 2018 9:54 am

Helene gave most of the team a B. She said they have been a good team. She thinks like Holland. Main reason Detroit is so far out of play-offs.....everyone connected with the team like their team. Very poor judges of talent and coach is even worse at using the talent he has. Forwards got a B Defence got B and goalie A. With these grades one would expect the team to be in the thick of fighting for the lead with the top 12 teams instead they are more like fighting with the bottom 12 to stay out of the celar. :D  :violin:

St. Lame is at it again, lol.
Thanks for not posting a link (seriously), I'm not going to read it anyway.
How the heck can she give them a B, we have 4-5 good players that's it.
When Holland leaves after the season he can take St. Lame along for the ride.

Lol, maybe it was graded on how nice the players are, I don't know how anyone could give the d a B.

Funniest thing I’ve read in a long time. I think she needs to be drug tested or she’s auditioning to write directly for the red wings web page.

I'm starting to think all these guys write with the idea they'll retire, take a buy out and then go write for the Red Wings PR team

If the criteria is primarily grading the players against their expectations, then for the most part I find the grades reasonable. Still pretty homerish overall, but really Dekeyser, Helm, Jensen & Mrazek are probably the only players that I'd definitely say haven't been as good as I expected them to be. The team is probably 4 or so games ahead win wise than where I expected them to be.

Now if you're grading them against the rest of the NHL, pass out the participation trophies and then take them out for ice cream.

Red Wings midseason grades: 'B' is for better than last year, mostly

Not a single player was given a D.

I made the mistake of glancing through the grades....I think I lost a few brain cells in the process.

honestly when you look at this team as individuals, most of them havent been bad. Larkin is thriving at center. Z is close to where he was last year ,tatar has been a bit more consistent than last year, nyquist is scoring more than last year (and hes had tons more chances where he didnt finish). Mantha has played fairly well, abby is having a good season, nielsen is on pace for 20+ goals. Frk has been pretty good too.

On defense green has been great even his D is better. Daley....lol...say what you will but more often than not i think hes doing alot more good than bad out there. E is having a decent season, kronwall has played in all the games..he hasnt been terrible, but not really good either. DDK has struggled, ditto jensen and XO.

Howard for the most part has been fantastic give or take a few ugly outings, mrazek has been pretty meh.

Where this team has struggled most is in continuity. Individually theyve been pretty good, but as a team theyve been pretty suck, which for me points a big finger at coaching. Alot of great individual effort and not nearly enough teamwork. Alot of our games this year are coming down to a handful of really bad plays.
