Czechs and USA for bronze.

Czechs are a fun team to watch with their top end skill at forward.

Some players who have had a good tournament:

I've already said enough about Necas, Chytil and Zadina you can't miss them out there.

Libor Hajek (TB) is part of the long line of Lightning prospects to star in this tournament. He has 6 points and moves the puck quick from the backend.

Disappointing tournament:

Ostap Safin might be a bit of a disappointment. I was thinking the Saint John Sea Dogs leading scorer would add a bit more offensive punch than he has.

Team USA has been a bit of a disappointment to me. They have a lot of top end prospects and only some have been playing up to their reputations.

Some players who have had a good tournament:

Samberg (WPG) is a big, smart player on defense. He looks like he has the NHL size and strength right now. He's not going to over handle the puck just quick accurate passes and is really good without the puck.

Middlestadt (BUF) has to be the best player in the tournament. Every the puck is on his stick it seems like they might score. He's gotta be in the Sabers line up next year.

Disappointing tournament:

Yamamoto (EDM) started the year in the NHL so I had high expectations. But he's largely unnoticeable out there.

Logan Brown (OTT) was drafted 11th overall in 2016 and Sens fans are in love with him. This should be his tournament. But he's no where to be seen.

Picking a winner for a bronze metal is always tough sometimes the favorite only came for gold and the underdog would kill for a bronze. I think the Canadians broke the Czechs last night. I really wasn't impressed with some of their best players hanging their heads on the bench half way through the 3rd. I think the USA will pull their shit together as the far better team and take it. 6-3 USA

Is it just me? Or are the Blues kicking ass at the draft table lately?
In the last two years:
Tage Thomspon, 26th overall
Jordan Kyrou, mega producer in the OHL,
Robert Thomas, makes Team Canada in first post-draft season.
Klim Kostin - Been fairly decent in the AHL as an 18-year old.

They also have a good rookie defenseman from the 2015 draft (drafted in Round 2. There were no first round picks for them that year)

In 14 they got Fabbri and Barbashev and Letunov still looks like a prospect (for SJ now).

So slick and smooth with the puck. He could probably play in the NHL right now.
Brannstrom is the guy who has not played well.

I think you just heard the announcers complaining about a couple bad plays by Brannstrom in a row last game and Liljegren completing a nice two line pass. Overall Brannstrom has been very good and much more relied on by the team. He's 2nd in TOI only to Dahlin on the team. Liljegren wasn't horrible or anything but not near what I had hoped he would be this tournament.

HAHA! Technically yes. Not a chance. He's more likely to win a Calder.

Its great to see how everyone protects Dahlin,,,the dont hype him on TV like crazy, his SEL team control media strictly, his parents do not allow interviews etc etc. You get your comments sometimes oc, but they are seldom. Mikael Renberg is commentator and he is very good, but I miss the best one by far, Håkan Andersson (he usually is involved).
