LCA - TOO NICE OR .......

Postby heyfolks » Sat Oct 07, 2017 6:04 pm

Red Wings' Jeff Blashill: 'We need (fans) in the stands'

Image

"That's one of the challenges of a great building with so much to offer, especially a new building where they're checking things out," Blashill said. "We need them in the stands. I thought there were moments where it was real full and moments where it wasn't. We need them in the stands as much as possible. It's a loud building, so it's going to be a huge home-ice advantage when they're in the stands."

Some of this is the new toy syndrome. Some may be slow concessions (never been so can't comment BUT, at day's end the product on the ice needs to exceed the bling of the building.

It really seems like an afterthought though. No one seems to acknowledge it as their arena too.

Fans should do whatever they like, including walking around to get full value.
Maybe they were all hanging out with LivoniaTom or reminiscing about the good old days with Draper.

They LEFT Detroit. This is a HOCKEY rink. Let them build their own damn court or go back to the Joe. < Yeah, that's all I've got. I just like the hockey rink vibe, not some mixed use arena. That and I don't watch b-ball.

I really don't give a rats ass what Blashshit says about the fans - put a better product on the ice and the fans will come. Plain and simple. I was there opening night and didn't miss any of the action - whether I was in our seats or wondering around seeing everything. 90% of the people were doing the exact same thing - and they will continue to do the same till they are comfortable with the surroundings and the team starts producing in the playoffs. :horse:
