Found this, this morning. Holland said the other day, no trade. Now this story shows up. I don't think I buy it.

What makes you think he wouldn't do the same with Holland.

IDK, I think the fact that he's dead would make it pretty difficult.

He wasn't dead the last three years, when this rebuild should have started.

AA, Green, Jensen & a 2nd for Duchene.

Wings get Duchene. A 26 year old who could be a 1C, could wash out or might be somewhere in between that has definitely burned his bridge with the Avs. Wings dump a marginal NHL d-man and make room to bring another one up :D, move their only passable top 4 D and increase their draft lottery position. Duchene either works out here or gets flipped at the deadline next year. Wings can give shots to Sproul, Hicketts and Russo.

Avs get AA - A 23 year old RFA that could be a perennial 20+ goal man and dynamic offensive player. Jensen, blah. A 2nd that should be somewhere between 32 and 36 and the chance to flip Green for a 1st.

It's not what the Avs want for Duchene, but no one is paying their asking price and the situation seems pretty toxic. I kinda think the 2nd makes it a bit of an overpayment with all of the question marks surrounding Duchene.

In my opinion AA is a key piece of the future of this organization. Does that mean he's worth 2.5 million today.? Nope. Would I trade him because he's holding out? Nope. I'll channel my inner Arnie here... He'll be back.

I do believe a compromised middle would exist if Holland had it negotiated this crappy roster to the cap limit. Holland should be looking at trades but not AA.

If he can move AA and break even in the trade, fine, but otherwise, see Jonathan Drouin.

I just don't see a break even trade out there. Yet if they can trade AA for a same age up-and-coming top 4D man I do it.

$2,5M on one side.
$1.9M on the other.
$2.2M is a nice deal.

If he goes 25-15-40 for two years at $2.2M... who the fuck is going to feel like they didn't get their money's worth.

Holland drawing this line in the sand is mindboggling.

This is all on AA and his agent! they lied about the KHL option and Holland called their bluff, now AA is too stupid to make the choice of making $1.9m/yr or nothing. sing the deal, come back over and tear it up. Then you can get paid. It's not that hard to figure out
